Which of the following historical developments best demonstrates that political beliefs do not always align on a simple liberal-conservative spectrum?
A
Reagan’s conservative economic policies
B
Bipartisan civil rights reforms in the 1960s
C
Political polarization during the Cold War
D
The emergence of totalitarian regimes in the late 20th century
